Albert Einstein, Steve Jobs, Thomas Edison, Steven Spielberg all have two things in common. They were successful, and they all had dyslexia.

At GRASP, we want parents with children who have dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia to know that their children have a unique way of learning and processing information that sets them apart. Their way of learning doesn’t stop them from achieving their highest goals, they simply require the highest standards of learning that education can provide. GRASP can help.

Does your child have dyslexia, dysgraphia or dyscalculia?

Dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia cause learning difficulties with reading, writing, spelling and math. You may not realize that your child’s instruction doesn’t match their learning style. What you may see is anxiety, depression or anger, as frustration mounts because your child isn’t learning. We know your child is intelligent, they just learn in a different way. A simple screening can determine if your child has signs of dyslexia, dysgraphia or dyscalculia.

Flexible and Creative Learning

At GRASP, students can be honest about their challenges in the learning process with teachers who are equipped to change the model. Our teachers are trained in the Orton-Gillingham methodology, an intensive, phonics-based, multisensory approach that involves three pathways of learning: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. Instructors tie words, figures, and numbers with experience to create lessons rooted in memory. It is never a matter of ‘if’ the student grasps the concept, only ‘how’.

United for Success

The only thing that separates GRASP from other schools is that it is made up of a student body united by their challenges, and teachers present to their needs. The GRASP Academy has the same hours as other county schools with the same vision and mission for its students. We also have a growing list of clubs and afterschool activities, as well as regular athletics.

Thinking Beyond Standards

The quality of our instruction surpasses that of any private school. Our teachers, many with master’s and doctorate degrees, think beyond the standards. Teachers have the freedom to individualize instruction to make learning a joy for all of our students. That is why we reach beyond the standards.

“When I came to GRASP, everything changed. We were all at the same reading level, we all knew how everyone read. When we go into groups, I always want to read out loud, but at my other school I just wanted to hide in a corner and read to myself.”

Every Student. Every Day.
