Why Parents Love Stanton
As Jacksonville’s original college prep magnet, Stanton is focused on turning college plans into college achievements. Our students gain access to some of the earliest opportunities to earn college credit, starting in the ninth grade! This not only helps students challenge themselves and reach their goals sooner, but it can also dramatically lower the number of credits that end up on college tuition bills later. The student body here is also high achieving and goal-oriented, so your student will be surrounded by smart children who value working hard and having fun achieving great things on their educational journey.

Why Students Love Stanton
Students (and parents) are continually dazzled by the sheer range of activities open to them at Stanton. There are currently over 80 different student organizations on campus spanning just about every imaginable interest. We have thriving theater and music programs, as well as clubs for everything from photography to law to sports medicine. Our athletic teams compete in 18 different sports, and the e-sport players in our video game club are eligible for their own category of scholarships. Whatever your teen loves to do, they can do it here in the company of friends and mentors while discovering new interests they might never have considered if not enrolled at Stanton.

What Your Children Will Learn
Our academic options are why Stanton is continually recognized on a national level. With all advanced-level classes, Stanton helps every student develop the skills needed to build a stellar résumé and soar in college. Where other honors programs might focus solely on one theme of study, Stanton offers AP and honors courses in psychology, economics, music theory, Chinese literature, and dozens of other options. Students seeking a more structured challenge should also consider the International Baccalaureate program, an intense and prestigious two-year preparatory program taught from a global perspective and recognized by universities around the world.

Why We're Unique
Stanton College Prep was built on a passion for accessible education for all – literally. The downtown property on which our school originally stood was purchased by a group of African American community members in the 1950s, when Stanton became Jacksonville’s first school for the education of African American children. Even though Stanton is now located at a different address, that history lives on in the makeup of our student population. We are proud to say we have one of the most diverse school communities in the region, with staff and students from all over the world. Just about every race, religion, and socioeconomic background is represented, yet the closeness of our school community is practically unrivaled. The exposure to different kinds of people helps students develop empathy, understanding, and knowledge while preparing them to change the world.
